So finally game week 26 is coming up, as we already discussed in an earlier article, It is one hell of a week without the considerable talents of some of our favorite captain picks in the last few game weeks. If you are new to the idea of blank game weeks and which players you can turn to in the blank game weeks, you might want to visit a previous article here before making your decision on whom to captain for the upcoming game week 26.

So considering the considerable scarcity of captain materials i.e. the fantastic Zlatan Ibrahimovic who has been the most captained player over the last 8 game weeks, the irrepressible Chilean Alexis Sanchez who is the best fpl player by a mile, the rejuvenated (I can’t believe I am saying this) Sergio Aguero who banged in 11 goals in 6 starts and the unforgettable 5 goals against Newcastle united last season, the Brazilian savior Gabriel Jesus who swept us off our feet with 3 goals and an assist in 2 complete matches. Here is a small list of some players you can back up for double points by entrusting them with the arm band this week.

Romelu Lukaku

The Belgian superman has already rewarded managers who have trusted him with the arm band this season, 42 point haul against Bournemouth and the 34 point haul against Sunderland come to mind.

Guess what? The Big Belgian is back facing the Black cats again this Saturday, will he have another crazy haul? I guess so but you should ensure you give him the arm band so that you can benefit from a possible mauling of the black cats. He’s scored 6 goals in 3 matches at home in 2017 and considering  Everton’s form and the fact that Sunderland have conceded 46  goals so far this season, the stage looks set for a grand Rom performance.

Sadio Mane

The Senegal international is bang on form after making his way back from the disappointment of missing his penalty in the AFCON for his nation. He is increasingly becoming the kop’s main threat, he scored a brace against a spurs side that couldn’t live with his live wire pace, facing a manager less, confused and defenseless Leicester city, one can only imagine the damage Sadio will cause. The hottest fpl property at the moment bagged a goal and an assist against the foxes last time they met, bet on him to completely blow off the underwhelming defending champions.

Gylfi Sigurdsson

This is a gamble considering the fact that the swans are facing a stingy Chelsea defense, however if they are to retain their premier league status, they have to score goals, if they score goals then definitely Gylfi has got something to do with it, so gamble on him if you can……..and he scored a goal against the blues back in GW 4.

Diego Costa

The most consistent fpl player failing to collect attacking returns in only 3 game weeks before his suspension missing the match against Bournemouth in GW 18. Costa has now gone 3 matches without a goal but with 2 assists, his next match against Swansea is rated 2 in FDR and it should really be the match that Costa gets his goal scoring boots back on. With his previous love for yellow cards seemingly out of the with only one yellow card since game week 6, you might not have to worry so much of losing points to silly cards…. Ooh and I remember he bagged 2 goals the last time the 2 sides met in GW 4.

Harry Kane

The English man was an inspiration as he went home with the match ball to knock Fulham out of the FA cup before suffering an embarrassment against Gent scoring an own goal and subsequently getting knocked out of the Europa league. If the Lilly whites are to mount a serious challenge for the title this season, Kane has to bang in goals and this match against Stoke should present an opportunity for him to mount a challenge for the golden boot as well. He scored the last time they met too.

Eden Hazard

Another Belgian magician makes the list; Eden has been the biblical Garden of Eden sometimes this season showing the form that made him the premier league player of the year with 10 goals and 6 assists. His game play has been fantastic so far only missing out on fpl points due to bad luck and sacrificing for the sake of the team. Eden Hazard is a gamble which could well pay off handsomely.

Do you have other players not on this list that you back up to perform this game week and lift you off your opponents? I would love to know what you are thinking in the comments section.
