The ongoing FIFA world cup 2018 has kept most fpl managers so busy we might not even realize the new fpl season has been launched. For those who have had a look at the player pricing for the new fpl season, you realize you have to be a shrewd manager if you want to have the top assets in your side.
For example, getting Salah (£13.0) and Kane (£12.5) sets you back a whooping £25.5, which is more than a 25% of your overall budget.
So to have this players in your team and still look to field a decent team means you must look to capitalize on the well-priced newly promoted assets who can deliver as well as the established assets.
So who are these assets?
Ryan Sessegnon (£6.5) Fulham.
Kouassi Ryan Sessegnon, born in 2000, what hasn’t been said about this wonderkid? Naturally a left back but predominantly a left winger, Sessegnon has been a revelation, so much that before England announced their 23 man squad for the world cup, he was tipped to make the list.
Sessegnon holds the record of being the first player born in the 2000’s to score on his debut in the top English leagues. He went on to score 16 goals and provide 8 assists in his 48 appearances in the championship last season.
If Sessegnon is going to be played in his favored left wing position and Mitrovic being confirmed as a Fulham player, you can realistically expect the English teenager to have quite an impact in the premier league. The youngster has been in the championship team of the year for the last two seasons, has a serious eye for goal and if Fulham manage to turn down the big money approaches from the big teams interested in the teenager, he will be in my team.
Sean Morrison (£5.0) Cardiff.
Sean Morrison is as good a goal scoring Center Back as you can find in the League. Last year in the championship, he bagged 7 goals and 1 assist, exemplary numbers for a central defender. That goal scoring output is not a one off for Morrison, in his 155 appearances for Cardiff, he boasts an impressive 20 goals and 9 assists, and he even has 2 goals from 15 English Premier League appearances for reading back in 2012/2013.
Considering Cardiff City might not be expected to keep so many clean sheets in their first premier league season, Set pieces will be critical to their chances of survival scoring a massive 21 goals out of their total 69 from set pieces. Morrison bagged an impressive 7 of those, so you can bet on him giving you the much needed goals from defense, even though his price tag might be a little high for a newly promoted defender.
Just as an example, you could use him and another impressive attacking defender, say Maguire (£5.5) for rotation depending on form and fixtures.
Diogo Jota (£6.5) Wolver Hampton.
Another highly priced recently promoted player. The former Atletico Madrid man who did not make a single appearance for La Liga giants, comes with a massive goal threat. He scored 17 goals and provided 5 assists in 43 games for the Championship champions. In the season previous to that, he scored 8 goals and provided 5 assists in 15 games FC Porto.
Diogo Jota has gone criminally under the radar of majority FPL manages as majority of managers turn their attentions to Sessegnon and Jota’s team mate Ruben Neves who isn’t even as massive a goal threat like Jota.If Wolves continue using their favored 3-4-3 formation, Jota could be utilized in a Left Forward position which could greatly maximize his goal threat and assist potential. Be sure to monitor this player, he could be a massive budget enabler for your team.
This is the first group of 3 players that I recommend managers to look at when forming their initial teams. I will continue doing subsequent articles to shed light on various players that will be good budget saviors for you, keep Checking on this blog.
